Mobile Broadband from Three Australia with SE W910i – Ubuntu 8.10

I’ve just gotten around to setting up my Sony Ericsson W910i for mobile broadband with Three under Ubuntu Intrepid.

Bluetooth is a pain to get working properly due to bugs in Network Manager and lack of proper support for this phone (though I read it is possible) so for now I’ve stuck to trusty old USB.

Also, due to bugs in Network Manager (really starting to hate this change since Intrepid) I’ve not been able to get the modem working properly via NM. The answer? wvdial.
